Viking Invitational
Vikings, Booster and Parents,
CONGRATULATIONS!! WE DID
IT! The invitational
is over and done with. And although the rain
didn't hold completely off, most of the bands
competing were able to play dry. Those last two
bands that performed in the pouring rain, were
excellent and well worth getting wet for!
If you see any of the chairs and co-chairs of the committees in the various
areas that took on this event and pulled it off like they've been working band
competitions forever, give them a huge thank you!!
Mary Weiss -
Band Booster 2nd Vice President and overall WVI
coordinator

Thomas - upper and
lower concessions
Gordon Weiss -

line at upper concessions
Beth Steven -

programs
Ed "PapaB" Bayne -

Les Bergman -

Venita Acker and Shauna
Schwarta - shout-outs,
DVDs and photo sales
Liz Carlton and Ashley

Mr. Hannan -

Chris Buckley and Leah
Krucelyak - score

Jeff Resko -

on a first name basis!)
Members of the "Mighty
Viking Band"
Karl Kerns -
WSHS Activities Director
Mr. Huckstein -
Principle, WSHS
And last but absolutely
not the least, ALL
PARENT VOLUNTEERS. Without
your equipment, food, help, flexibility and willingess
to jump in and get the job done, this event would
not have been so successful.
While we won't know for a little bit just how profitable the invitational actually
was financially, I can share some of the comments
I heard while walking through the crowds, and
talking to both judges and other band directors and their staff: "Best
hospitality tent" "Great variety of
choices at concessions" "Very well organized" "You have
SUPER BOOSTER PARENTS" "Great judges lunch, the ziti was excellent
and the lemon bars were top notch"
Again, JOB WELL DONE!
With
Viking Pride!
